Field Training Manager
Position Summary
The Field Training Manager is responsible for leading training execution and operational capability across 12–15 Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) locations within an assigned territory. This role ensures consistent implementation of brand standards, operational excellence, leadership development, workforce readiness, and food safety compliance. The Field Training Manager partners closely with District Managers and General Managers to drive performance, guest satisfaction, profitability, and full compliance with brand and local jurisdiction food safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Execution
- Oversee training programs across 12–15 QSR locations to ensure consistency and brand compliance.
- Deliver and support onboarding programs for new General Managers, Assistant Managers, Shift Leaders, and Crew Members.
- Conduct in-store training visits, skill validations, and coaching sessions.
- Facilitate classroom and field-based training workshops as needed.
- Track and monitor ServSafe certification status for management and team members in accordance with brand standards and local jurisdiction requirements.
- Coordinate and teach ServSafe Food Handler and Food Protection Manager courses, as certified, to ensure timely certification and recertification.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all food safety certifications and ensure proactive renewal compliance.
- Monitor training completion metrics and ensure timely certification.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure all training aligns with brand operational standards, SOPs, and food safety protocols.
- Partner with Operations leadership to identify performance gaps and implement corrective training.
- Support new store openings, reopens, and remodel transitions.
- Reinforce food safety, quality control, and guest service standards.
- Ensure restaurants are inspection-ready at all times and compliant with local health department regulations.
Leadership Development
- Develop high-potential team members through structured development plans.
- Coach General Managers on training accountability, food safety ownership, and team performance.
- Build bench strength and support succession planning across the territory.
Performance & Compliance
- Analyze store KPIs (sales, labor, food cost, guest satisfaction, turnover, and food safety metrics) to identify training needs.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, ServSafe requirements, and regulatory mandates.
- Conduct periodic audits to verify execution of training and food safety standards.
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with HR and Operations to support hiring, retention, and engagement initiatives.
- Communicate training updates, initiatives, certification requirements, and best practices across locations.
- Serve as a culture ambassador, reinforcing company values, service excellence, and food safety accountability.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of QSR multi-unit management or training experience.
- Proven experience overseeing multiple restaurant locations (5 preferred).
- Strong understanding of QSR operations, food safety regulations, and labor management.
- Current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification required(or ability to obtain certification)
- Certified ServSafe Instructor/Proctor preferred (or ability to obtain certification).
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop leaders.
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
- Ability to travel extensively within the assigned market.
- Proficiency in training systems, LMS platforms, and performance reporting tools.
- HR qualifications and/or experience a plus.
