Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklift trucks, reach trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, cherry pickers, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment to load and unload shipments.
- Manage inventory by accurately picking orders using barcode scanning technology and warehouse management systems.
- Load and unload goods efficiently while adhering to heavy lifting and manual handling safety protocols.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or notify maintenance for mechanical issues to ensure optimal operation.
- Maintain precise shipping and receiving records, update inventory logs, and support warehouse distribution activities.
- Follow OSHA safety standards and warehouse safety protocols to prevent accidents and promote a safe working environment.
- Assist with warehouse organization by stacking pallets, managing materials handling tasks, and supporting overall warehouse operations.
Skills
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as lift trucks, reach trucks, cherry pickers, Hi-Lo forklifts, clamp trucks, pallet jacks, or similar equipment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS), barcode scanning for logistics, and inventory control procedures.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety standards in production environments including OSHA regulations.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely while maintaining efficiency.
- Mechanical knowledge for basic equipment repair and troubleshooting issues with material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with shipping & receiving processes and materials handling best practices.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and data entry related to warehouse operations.
