PAY
Certified Substitute Teacher - $ 16.50 per hour
- If a Certified Substitute Teacher substitutes twenty consecutive days in the same assignment, the pay increases to $24.75 per hour beginning with the twenty-first consecutive day in that same assignment.
Teacher Assistant/Paraprofessional Substitute - $12.00 per hour
Clerical Substitute - $12.00 per hour
All substitutes must have a High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER JOB SUMMARY:- Substitute Teachers are responsible for providing instruction and managing classroom environments in absence of the regular staff. Substitute teachers are required to perform all the regular staff duties for whom they are substituting for.
SUBSTITUTE TEACHER JOB DUTIES- Follow lesson plans provided by the regular Teacher to create a cohesive and consistent learning experience for students
- Manage the classroom effectively to encourage student participation, minimize distractions and maintain a positive learning environment
- Adapt teaching methods to fit the needs of each individual student
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom, including in the halls, on the playground and in the cafeteria
- Provide in-class and at-home assignments based on the available lesson plan
QUALIFICATIONS
Required- Education: High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
- Ability to work cooperatively with others, demonstrate self-discipline and initiative, and follow state and district guidelines
- As a condition of employment, each prospective substitute must pass a National Criminal History Record Check (NCHRC).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS- To be considered a Certified Substitute Teacher, you must have a valid OKLAHOMA Teaching Certificate
