The Technical Quoter supports our Technical Sales team and takes ownership of complex, project-based quoting initiatives that fuel our company’s growth. You’ll work closely with Outside Sales, Engineering, Automation, and Purchasing to craft competitive, technically sound quotes for assemblies and projects. Key Duties And Essential Functions
The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office equipment, etc. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time. Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to observe details at close range.
Compensation: $75,000 - $85,000

Key Duties And Essential Functions
- Manage a shared quoting inbox; review, prioritize, and respond to RFQs and inquiries.
- Own assigned quotes from intake through completion, ensuring timely acknowledgment and delivery.
- Review specifications, drawings, and project requirements to determine feasibility and approach.
- Prepare accurate, competitive quotes for valves, actuators, assemblies, and automation solutions.
- Gather technical and commercial details (configurations, accessories, testing, documentation).
- Coordinate with vendors to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, and technical requirements.
- Evaluate alternatives to optimize cost, lead time, and margin.
- Identify upsell opportunities (spares, accessories, complementary products).
- Deliver clear, professional quotes with defined scope, pricing, exclusions, and timelines.
- Follow up on open quotes to drive order conversion.
- Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, Automation, and Purchasing teams.
- Ensure smooth handoff from quote to order with complete documentation.
- Maintain accurate records and adhere to quoting standards and turnaround goals.
- Support continuous improvement of quoting processes and tools.
- 3 years of experience in quoting, estimating, technical sales, or application engineering—preferably in industrial equipment, automation, or engineered products.
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and configure assemblies, systems, and components for industrial applications.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for quoting tools, data analysis, margin calculation, and vendor comparison.
- Experience with ERP and CRM tools—Prophet 21 (P21) and WPCRM strongly preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to convey technical and commercial information clearly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple open quotes, and meet tight deadlines.
- High level of initiative and ownership with a customer-focused mindset.
