Dunbarton Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join a team of Maintenance Technicians who are responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair of plant equipment, machinery, and structural systems, including electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and welding tasks. They install, test, and service a wide range of systems such as conveyors, industrial ovens, motors, and programmable controls.
Essential Job Functions
- Install, assemble, inspect, operate, balance, align, diagnose, repair, and maintain all Dunbarton machinery, equipment, and support systems, including programmable controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, industrial ovens, motors, and motor controls
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, including dismantling equipment, inspecting drives, belts, dies, and fluid levels, replacing filters, and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems using manuals, blueprints, and diagnostic tools
- Program and reprogram machine ladder logic; analyze test results, error messages, and operator feedback to identify and resolve equipment issues
- Operate forklifts and other industrial vehicles to move machinery, equipment, and materials within maintenance and manufacturing areas
- Maintain and repair all support equipment, including forklifts, tuggers, generators, HVAC units, cranes, hoists, and man lifts
Inspect, maintain, and coordinate repairs for all plant facilities and infrastructure, including electrical, plumbing, structural, lighting, safety, and security system - Safely operate and maintain hand tools, power tools, industrial staplers, and wrapping equipment
- Record scheduled, in-progress, and completed work in the maintenance database; track parts usage and maintain inventory of critical repair components to support predictive maintenance
- Take corrective action to prevent defects and product loss; understand and apply customer requirements to ensure quality standards
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to anticipate future equipment and quality needs based on production timelines
- Support maintenance activities at remote locations, including customer sites, the Camden Plant, and Service Center
- Enforce and follow all safety, 6S, Kaizen, OSHA, ADEM, EPA, and NFPA regulations; lead Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and maintain machine safety systems such as light curtains, e-stops, and guards
- Conduct safety and environmental inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable regulations
- Adheres to work schedule and attendance requirements, including overtime if required
- Performs other work as directed and required
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment used in metal manufacturing, including CNC machines, drill presses, grinders, and welding equipment
- Knowledge of safety systems and regulations (OSHA, EPA, NFPA), including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and machine guarding
- Knowledge of documentation practices for recording maintenance and operational data
- Knowledge of production planning and operational sequencing
- Knowledge of proper material handling, lifting techniques, and equipment operation
- Skill in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Skill in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics
- Skill in use of computer hardware and software, including word processing, database, and spreadsheet programs
- Skill in the organization of tasks and setting priorities to meet operational goals and deadlines
- Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license
- Ability to analyze issues and select appropriate solutions using logical reasoning
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with coworkers and customers
- Ability to remain calm in stressful situations and to take a teamwork approach to the job by cooperating with others, offering to help others when needed, and considering larger organization or team goals rather than individual concerns
