What are the responsibilities and job description for the Industrial Service Technician -- Extrusion Machinery Maintenance position at Dunaway?
No prior experience is required. If you’re mechanically inclined, comfortable with tools, and eager to learn, we’ll train you.
What will I actually do?- Assist a lead technician in maintaining and repairing aluminum extrusion presses and supporting systems.
- Work in our shop between trips to assemble, build, and repair equipment.
- Shop schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
- Field schedule: Depends on customer production windows; weekends are common. We balance workloads to allow time off to recharge.
- Most trips are 4–5 days.
- Per diem and travel expenses are covered; travel typically uses company vehicles.
- Large projects can run several weeks—we rotate team members to reduce time away.
- Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with hand tools.
- Ability to disassemble and rebuild mechanical assemblies.
- Millwright or industrial maintenance background.
- Welding (stick and MIG).
- Experience with aluminum extrusion presses.
Hands-on training to service extrusion presses with optional pathways into welding, hydraulics, PLCs, controls, electrical, and engineering topics.
