Duties
- Assist in supervising daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and customer service initiatives
- Lead, motivate, and develop retail sales teams to achieve sales targets and deliver excellent customer experiences
- Manage employee orientation, training, and development programs to ensure team members are well-equipped with product knowledge and operational procedures
- Oversee inventory management activities such as stock replenishment, merchandising, purchasing, and inventory control to optimize product availability
- Handle cashiering duties including POS (Point of Sale) system operation, cash handling, pricing accuracy, and cashier supervision
- Support recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing candidates and onboarding new employees
- Maintain effective communication with team members through managerial communication skills to ensure smooth shift management and operational flow
Requirements
- Proven supervisory or assistant manager experience within the retail industry or grocery stores
- Strong knowledge of retail management processes including inventory management, merchandising, and sales management
- Excellent negotiation skills and experience in purchasing and vendor relations
- Multilingual or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on team management, training & development, and operational oversight
- Proficiency with POS systems, cash handling procedures, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and basic math skills
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Effective communication skills including phone etiquette and managerial communication techniques
