The Duluth Transit Authority (DTA) is currently seeking to fill an Assistant Maintenance Director position. This role requires strong leadership abilities, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset. The DTA is an award-winning transit agency that provides safe, convenient, and affordable public transit service (fixed route and paratransit) within the Twin Ports of Duluth, MN and Superior, WI. We transport just under 3 million passengers annually by way of our 75 bus fleet and we employ approximately 175 team members.
Duties Include:
- Supervises maintenance personnel. Duties include organizing and prioritizing job assignments, assigning personnel to job tasks, providing guidance, technical information and feedback, and training and performance evaluations.
- Assist in procurement of inventory, disbursement of parts and inventory. Supervises the use of equipment and supplies. Fulfills the duties of the Parts Manager as necessary.
- Assures that all personnel perform their work in accordance with the Safety Program and complies with all OSHA and EPA regulations and requirements. Participates in bi-monthly facility inspections. Conducts safety training programs for personnel.
- Assists the Director of Maintenance in administrative duties as required. Duties include personnel management, assigning discipline, grievance handling, leave scheduling, etc.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities using computerized software.
- Participates in planning of future projects and financial needs. Recognizes problem areas and recommends solutions.
- Responds to emergency situation needing immediate attention and be available for emergency responses on weekends and evenings.
