Title: Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach
Position Summary:
The Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach assists the Head Coach in leading, operating, and coaching a nationally competitive NCAA Division I Women’s Tennis program. This role is instrumental in talent identification, on-court technical and tactical development, dual-match coaching, program administration fostering an environment focused on the student-athlete experience.

Essential Functions:
- Assist in designing and executing high level practice plans and individual training sessions
- Teach and educate student-athletes on proper fundamentals, techniques and strategies in tennis
- Assist with recruiting
- Assist with travel planning and equipment maintenance
- Commitment to University, ACC and NCAA compliance
- Additional duties to further the mission and success of Duke Women’s Tennis
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- 2-4 years of college playing or coaching experience
- Current CPR/AED/First Aid Certifications
- Candidates must have strong interpersonal skills, the ability to develop knowledge of, respect for, and skills to engage student-athletes
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Knowledge of NCAA rules
- The scope of this position requires weekend, evening and possible holiday hours.
- Thrive in fast paced environment, possess a keen attention to details, and ability to multi-task

- Ability to work with a diverse population
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
- Knowledge of intercollegiate sports operations
- Ability to travel extensively during the recruiting process
Ability to work in a highly dynamic and diverse university setting
