Must have current or compact RN licensure in the state of North Carolina or current licensure as a licensed clinical social worker by the NC Social Work Certification and Licensure Board. Requires certification as a Case Manager or Accredited Case Manager or by December 31, 2017 for current staff.

Plan, develop, implement and assist in managing the Case Management program activities for multiple clinical service units at Duke University Hospital.
Work Performed
- Plan, develop, implement and promote a program of clinical social work activities for multiple in and outpatient service units and sites.
- Provide leadership and management to department of multidisciplinary staff including social workers, nurses, and support staff. Recruit, hire, orient, promote, and initiate performance partnership process and disciplinary process for all staff supervised.
- Coordinate and provide adequate staffing and coverage for clinical social work needs for multiple clinical service units, including substance abuse and mental health consults.
- Insure all units are appropriately covered on day-to-day basis.
- Manage on-call system. Provide clinical supervision to team leaders and other staff, meeting both requirements of the Department and NC Certification and Licensure Board.
- Supervise and coordinate administrative services associated with the management of the division.
- Work with management of clinical service units to participate in program planning, identifying clinical social work needs, and resolving problems.
- Organize activities with other departments/units to ensure efficient coordination of services.
- Determine fiscal requirements and assist in budget preparation for department. Monitor, verify and reconcile expenditure of budgeted funds, including the preparation of monthly variance reports. Maintain relevant statistics.
- Authorize expenditure of hospital funds for indigent care to include housing, travel, meals, medications as recommended by staff in the Social Work Department. Plan, coordinate and conduct staff meetings to ensure compliance with established practices and regulatory requirements, to implement new policies, and provide communication to staff, Provide teaching to staff to enhance clinical knowledge, maintain licensure and other areas.
- Plan, coordinate, and provide appropriate outcomes measurements for social work activities. Provide leadership to departmental committee, participate in hospital committees and meetings, provide consultation and teaching to other Duke departmental staff and faculty. Maintain liaison with community agencies and participate in related activities. Assist Director in administrative functions and assume the duties and responsibilities of Director as needed. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
