Family Law Associate Attorney (Hybrid/Remote) — Lakeville, NY, Livingston County

Compensation: $90,000 – $170,000 per year (base salary percentage of billed fees)

Experience: At least one year of family law attorney experience preferred, but will consider candidates with a proven interest in family law

This Lakeville position offers experienced mentoring, substantial paralegal and administrative support, and the opportunity to manage meaningful cases from intake through resolution. What you’ll do

As a Family Law Associate Attorney, you’ll manage your own cases while collaborating with experienced attorneys and a dedicated team.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, including:
• Divorce / matrimonial actions
• Child custody and visitation
• Child support / spousal support (maintenance)
• Other Family Court proceedings
• Draft and review legal documents: pleadings, motions, discovery, agreements, affidavits, etc.
• Conduct legal research and develop case strategies
• Communicate clearly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
• Regularly litigate, including hearings, trials, conferences, and other proceedings as needed
• Work collaboratively with attorneys, paralegals, and support teams to deliver an excellent client experience

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Active license in good standing to practice in New York State
• Strong client-service mindset and high ethical standards
• Highly responsive to clients and skilled in communication, organization, and case management
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team

Preferred (nice-to-have) experience

• Family law experience preferred, but strong candidates with a demonstrated desire for a career as a family law attorney will be considered
• Experience managing a caseload with deadlines and performance metrics
• Comfort with practice management technology and modern workflows
• Billable hours structure

Compensation & benefits

Annual compensation: $90,000 – $170,000
Structure: Base salary percentage of billed fees, plus performance incentives. All attorneys in our office currently earn over $130,000 under this structure.

Work location & schedule

This position is hybrid remote in Lakeville, NY 14480. Court appearances and certain in-person needs require local/regional driving, with mileage reimbursement where applicable.
