This role will be based at our Duke Regional campus, which is a 350-bed facility with an average census of around the 200s in 2025. The hospital medicine census is around 70% of the hospital census.

Duke Regional Hospital is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Internal Medicine physician to join our nationally recognized Hospital Medicine team in North Durham. This role will be based at our Duke Regional campus, which is a 350-bed facility with an average census of around the 200s in 2025. The hospital medicine census is around 70% of the hospital census.
Position Highlights
- Provide daytime care for hospitalized adult patients at our Duke Regional campus, rotating between the rounding and admitting lines
- Extensive and ongoing communications with primary oncology teams who routinely manage the cancer care of patients in the outpatient setting
- Closed ICU, no procedures expected, target census 10-14 pts/MD, team includes APP model
- Schedule is typically a 7 on/7 off model
- MD or DO degree
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency
- BC/BE in Internal Medicine
- Hematology/Oncology Fellowship preferred, but not required
- Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in North Carolina
- Practice at one of the country's premier academic health systems
