We are seeking aMedical Assistant, Certified (CMA/RMA)in ourDuke Children's Specialty Services Cliniclocated inGreensboro, NCto be an integral member of the healthcare team and provide direct and indirect care to patients.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform patient intake including: obtaining vital signs (including manual blood pressures), administering survey tools, data collection, education screens, assisting patients with ambulation/toileting, reviewing patient medications, assisting patients with preparing questions for provider visit.
- Completing procedural tasks including: administering medications according to protocols and provider orders, assisting with clinic-performed procedures, EKGs, place Holter monitors), reviewing pre-printed material with patient/family, bill for nursing procedures.
- Monitor and initiate corrective action to maintain the environment of care, including equipment and material resources.
- Documentation in electronic health record. Performing administrative tasks as mentioned above.
JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant programaccredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.
- High school or GED graduation required.
- Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
- BLS required
