GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE:
The Machine Shop Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all machinery and mechanical equipment within the machine shop. This role is critical to minimizing downtime, maximizing operational efficiency, and ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. The technician must be skilled in a variety of maintenance functions, including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and be able to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
Will support the Corporate Quality Policy and will make continuous improvements in work processes.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance on all shop equipment, including but not limited to CNC machines, lathes, mills, grinders, and welding equipment.
Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems to resolve equipment malfunctions and breakdowns.
Operate machine shop tools and equipment, such as lathes and milling machines, to fabricate repair parts as needed.
Disassemble and reassemble machinery to remove and replace defective components, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
Test and inspect damaged or repaired machine parts and verify conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers.
Conduct safety checks and follow all company policies and OSHA safety regulations, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
Read and interpret technical documents, blueprints, and equipment manuals to perform required maintenance and service.
Maintain accurate and timely records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts and supplies by checking stock levels and placing orders when necessary.
Collaborate with the operations and production teams to coordinate maintenance schedules and provide technical support.
Assist with the installation, relocation, and setup of new equipment and machinery.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Forklift operation, 5 years’ experience in construction, mechanical maintenance or mechanical repair.
