Machine Builder - Electrical

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:    This person will work on large machine and custom products to meet customer requirements. Assemble, test, and troubleshoot, products to meet the customer schedule. Will support the Corporate Quality policy and using TQM concepts, principles, and tools, to make continuous improvements in work processes.

POSITION FUNCTIONS:   Listed below is typical functions performed in this position. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

1. Assemble Electrical panels for machinery to meet customer requirements.
2. Field wire electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems with the assistance of engineering instructions. (Schematics, drawings and verbal)
3. Inspect and test products to ensure quality and meets all the requirements and specifications.
4. Operate various fabrication equipment and tools including hand, pneumatic driven and power tools as required to perform machine assembly.
5. Communicate with group manager before making any procedure changes to insure conformance to ISO standards.
6. Maintain daily paper/computer work accurately, such as timecards, checklists and material transactions necessary to maintain inventory accuracy.
7. Apply TQM techniques and procedures to improve processes and assure defect-free products to customers.
8. Perform work in other job classifications and departments as required.
9. Assist in installations and service issues at customer facilities. (Travel required).

OTHER FUNCTIONS:

1. Provide technical assistance to manufacturing for methods and Electrical processes.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE SPECIFICATIONS:  Minimum 3 years’ experience in industrial electrical wiring and panel building in lieu of post High School education. Experience in electrical panel building a plus.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

1. Good communication skills including the ability to read blueprints and schematics.
2. Work with minimal supervision.
3. Ability to travel on short notice. Having a Passport is a plus.
4. Experience in field wiring industrial machinery
5. Experience or education with high voltage, specifically to three phase current.
6. Knowledge of electrical components.
7. Experience in trouble shooting electrical problems on industrial machines.
8. Panel building and trouble shooting skills.
