GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION AND PRUPOSE: Individuals will perform advanced machinist operations on CNC and manual mills, CNC and manual lathes and various other machine shop equipment as necessary to produce a quality product. They will support the Corporate Quality Policy and using TQM concepts, principles and tools, will make continuous improvements in the work process.
POSITION FUNCTIONS: Listed below are typical functions performed in this position. This description should not be construed to contain every function / responsibility that may be required to be performed by the individual in this position.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Perform complex setups on CNC equipment.
- Edit basic CNC programs.
- Optimize CNC machine time.
- Use boring heads, grooving tools, reamers, threading (internal and external) and machining tapers.
- Diagnose, analyze, and correct basic CNC programs and set ups.
- Basic knowledge of Mastercam software
- Calculate speeds and feeds.
- Clean and deburr parts.
- Perform basic maintenance on machines including minor repairs, adjustments to oils and coolant levels to ensure correct concentration (check with a refractometer) check and clean or replace all filters on machine as needed.
- Must be able to perform all the tasks listed in the Machinist job description
- Assist in training of personnel on equipment operations

Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma. Two years college technical training or equivalent.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: 5 years’ experience running and setting up cnc lathe and mills. Perform basic math skills including but not limited to Algebraic and Trigonometry.
