This position with the Duininck Paving team offers the opportunity to operate screed equipment to produce smooth, accurate asphalt surfaces while working closely with a skilled paving crew.
The Role:
- Safely operate the screed to level asphalt or concrete to the specified depth, grade, and surface quality.
- Read grade stakes and work with grade checkers, lasers, or GPS systems to maintain correct grade and alignment.
- Work closely with crew members using hand signals and verbal communication to coordinate work and maintain safe operations.
- Keep equipment clean, organized, and prepared for transport when needed.
- Perform daily inspections, lubrication, fluid checks, and basic maintenance to ensure the screed remains in safe working condition.
- Notify mechanics when additional maintenance or repairs are required.
- Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe jobsite environment.
- Follow supervisor instructions and complete tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.
Work Environment:
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Regularly work extended or overtime hours depending on project workload.
- Travel required throughout Central & Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the Eastern Dakotas.

- Willingness to travel as needed and work long or irregular hours during the construction season.
