This position with the Duininck Asphalt & Paving team offers the opportunity to operate distributor trucks, apply tack coat materials to precise specifications, and work directly with a coordinated paving crew on a variety of roadway and commercial projects.

The Role

• Safely operate the distributor to apply tack according to paving specifications and project requirements.
• Prepare the distributor each day and monitor performance throughout operations to ensure quality and consistency.
• Work closely with crew members using hand signals and verbal communication to coordinate work and maintain safe operations.
• Perform daily inspections, lubrication, fluid checks, and basic maintenance to keep the distributor in safe operating condition.
• Report maintenance or repair needs to the shop team.
• Keep the equipment clean and prepare it for transport when required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite environment.
• Follow supervisor instructions closely and complete assigned tasks with attention to detail.
  
  

Work Environment

• Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit for extended periods.
• Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Regularly work extended or overtime hours depending on project workload.
• Travel required throughout Central & Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and the Eastern Dakotas.
  
  

What We Look For

• Individuals who work safely and have the courage to speak up when unsafe behavior or conditions arise.
• CDL A with tanker endorsement and a current DOT health card.
• Basic mechanical understanding of distributor operations.
• Strong awareness of MSHA/OSHA regulations and PPE requirements.
• Ability to work effectively within a paving crew and communicate clearly.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and a consistent focus on quality and safety.
• Willingness to travel and work extended or irregular hours during the construction season.
