Position Overview
We are seeking a high-caliber Assistant Controller: a detail-driven, dependable professional who thrives in a structured yet fast-moving environment. This role supports the Vice President & Controller in maintaining accurate financial records, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring smooth,
high-efficiency accounting operations across a complex, production-driven business.

Key Responsibilities
The Assistant Controller will demonstrate a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset while supporting critical accounting operations.
Financial Close & Reporting Support
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, including general ledger reconciliations,
- journal entries, accruals, and fixed asset tracking.
- Support the preparation of financial statements and related schedules; ensure accuracy and
- alignment with U.S. GAAP.
- Help compile supporting schedules and documentation for internal review and external audits.
Operational Accounting
- Support day-to-day functions across AP, AR, billing, payroll, and collections to ensure consistent,
- error-free processing.
- Assist in maintaining cost accounting workflows, including job costing and product costing,
- essential to a manufacturing/production environment.
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Help maintain and improve internal control procedures to protect company assets and ensure
data integrity.
- Research and document accounting issues; assist in implementing process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Analysis, Modeling & Reporting
- Assist in the preparation of operational and financial analyses, including cost reporting and trend
analysis.
- Support the development and maintenance of financial models related to production, materials, labor, and overhead.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as a reliable partner to senior management and operations leadership.
- Provide administrative and analytical support to the Controller and assist junior accounting staff
as needed.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA track or interest is a plus.
- 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience; senior accountant or assistant controller
experience is a plus.
- Manufacturing or production environment experience preferred.
- Experience with fixed assets, sales tax, and commonly used accounting software; FileMaker
experience is a plus.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of GAAP, reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and cost
accounting principles.
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
Skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functions.
- High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and consistent follow-through.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with financial and tax software.
