We’re Duft Watterson, a full-service, Ad Age Small Agency of the Year and 1% For The Planet member headquartered in Boise, with clients across the U.S. As a Performance Marketing Specialist, you’ll be part of an inspired team of marketing writers, artists, strategists and digital natives who develop innovative marketing strategies and campaigns.
We’re seeking a Performance Marketing Specialist to join our digital team and take ownership of digital performance marketing including: Search engine marketing (SEM) campaigns, paid media analytics, and conversion tracking across multiple client accounts. In this role, you’ll manage SEM campaigns end-to-end, maintain analytics dashboards and reporting, implement conversion tracking strategies, and provide actionable insights to improve performance.
You’ll also integrate paid search with organic search by supporting search engine optimization (SEO) initiatives including keyword research, audits, on-page optimization and monitoring organic performance. This role provides exposure to multiple platforms, channels, and analytics tools, and the chance to grow your expertise in digital marketing within a dynamic, fast-paced agency environment. As a performance marketing specialist, you will work with multiple internal teams and external clients from a wide range of industries.

You’re a hands-on digital marketer with 2–4 years of experience running digital marketing campaigns and turning data into actionable insights. You thrive in fast-paced environments, love digging into analytics, and are skilled with tools like Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, GA4, GTM, SEMRush, and similar marketing analytics platforms.
You take pride in managing and maintaining dashboards, tracking data accuracy, and visualizing results to inform strategy. You’re a self-starter who is curious, collaborative, and eager to learn. You’re always looking for ways to optimize campaigns, visualize data and help clients achieve real results.
Responsibilities:
- Manage SEM campaigns across multiple client accounts and platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Microsoft Ads), including keyword research, campaign build, optimization, budgeting and performance monitoring
- Design, build, and own client-facing data visualization dashboards to effectively translate complex media metrics into clear, actionable business insights
- Create, implement and maintain conversion tracking in-platform and via GA4 and Google Tag Manager to support campaign performance and optimization
- Assist in the development and refinement of client tracking and attribution strategies to improve data quality and support campaign performance
- Monitor, track and analyze campaign, website and audience performance across paid media channels to identify trends, deviations and opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize results
- Provide clear insights and recommendations to media buyers to improve performance, including targeting adjustments, budget allocation, and creative testing
- Collaborate closely with the media team to ensure tracking, measurement and campaign performance goals are aligned with the paid media strategy.
- Support SEO efforts by assisting with audits, implementing on-page optimizations, monitoring performance, and conducting keyword research, competitive analysis and content gap analysis
- Manage and maintain our marketing analytics platform connections, the associated data warehouses, ensuring paid media data extractions and mappings operate correctly into client reporting dashboards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing, advertising, communications, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience managing paid advertising campaigns, either in-house or at an agency
- Proficiency with paid media platforms, including Google Ads and Microsoft Ads
- Experience with web analytics and tracking tools, including Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and marketing analytics platforms such as Improvado, Supermetrics, Adversity, Funnel.io or similar
- Experience building custom data visualization dashboards (e.g., Looker Studio, PowerBI) and connecting varying data sources to create cohesive media reports
- Experience with keyword research tools, such as SEMRush, Ahrefs, or similar platforms
- Strong skills in spreadsheets, including Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets, for reporting and analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking, with the ability to analyze data and identify trends
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Eagerness to learn new tools, platforms, and marketing strategies, and to deepen expertise in areas you already know
- Experience with search engine optimization is a plus
- Experience with paid social channels is a plus
- Experience with DSPs and programmatic media buying is a plus
