Summary : Summary :
The Assistant Commissary supports the Commissary Manager of a location. Tasks may include
purchasing and receiving, food production and storage, ensuring food quality, helping control food and labor costs, ensuring product is delivered to units, leading the commissary team, educating associates on equipment and food safety, and performing all other responsibilities as directed by the business or as assigned by Management. This is an exempt position and typically reports to the Commissary Manager.
Essential Functions :
Assists with purchasing for the entire branch, food production and storage; helps to keep pricing and order guides updated; and assists with establishing par inventory levels for all productsHelps to control food and labor costs to maximize profitabilityEnsures food quality, recipe, and portion control standards meet Food Safety Standards and SpecificationsAssists with daily delivery of food items and various goods / products throughout the locationAssists with training all associates on food and equipment safetyHelps to supervise the day-to- day activities of non-management associatesAssists in assigning work responsibilities, preparing schedules, and helps ensure that all shifts are coveredResolves routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levelsProvides recommendations for hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other status change of associates within the commissaryWorks with the Commissary Manager and vendors to ensure purchases are in accordance with company specificationsMinimum Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Work Environment :
