Compensation:$25 - $35 hourly
Responsibilities:- Draft subpoenas and coordinate with process servers
- Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and pleadings such as complaints, interrogatories, subpoenas, deposition notices, pretrial orders, legal briefs, and affidavits, under the supervision of a lawyer
- Gather information about legal issues from the client in interviews
- Aid lawyers in trial preparation by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, conducting research on legal articles, and assisting with client meetings and filing motions
- Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping our case filing system organized so all documents are readily accessible
- Prepare legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and motions under the supervision of a lawyer
- Facilitate law office activity, including drafting subpoenas and coordinating with process servers
- Work with lawyers to prepare for trial by preparing and organizing exhibits, organizing and coordinating witnesses, filing motions, and assisting with client meetings
- Perform administrative duties such as answering phone calls and keeping the case filing system organized, so all documents are readily accessible
- Gather information about factual issues from the client
- Completion of a nationally-accredited paralegal program strongly preferred
- ABA-approved paralegal certificate program such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree desired
- Must have strong interpersonal skills and talent for writing and grammar
- At least 3 years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
- Must have great time-management skills, and organizational skills
- Must have completed an ABA-approved paralegal certificate program, such as an Associate’s degree or proprietary school program in paralegal studies, Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional Microsoft Word and Adobe skills, with grammatical, spelling, and formatting expertise.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Three (3) years of experience in legal services under an attorney or lawyer in a law firm setting
- Proficient knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure for the County Court and the Colorado Revised Statutes governing eviction procedures
- Recent experience with FEDs and related trial preparation
