Position Summary
As a Deal Executive for Latin America at Duetti, you are responsible for negotiating, signing, and closing catalog acquisition deals with artists, songwriters, and other music creators across the Latin American market. You will work directly with Duetti's A&R, Investment, Legal, and Finance teams to lead these acquisitions, ensuring they meet both the company's and the artist's objectives.
You'll play a critical role in shaping and executing Duetti's acquisition strategy across Latin America, working closely with the Head of Sourcing and senior leadership. Operating at the intersection of music, operations, and data analytics, you'll be central to Duetti's mission of supporting independent music creators — with a direct impact on the lives of hundreds of artists across the region, helping them grow both professionally and financially.
Specific Responsibilities
● Partner with Duetti's A&R team to lead, negotiate, and execute deals in LATAM with artists and their teams, demonstrating a solid grasp of the regional music business while maintaining strong relationships with clients
● Project manage deals end-to-end, working closely with the Head of Sourcing and Sourcing Operations to ensure a healthy pipeline through data-driven assessments and creative lead generation initiatives
● Participate in key decision-making processes with the Investment and Legal teams, ensuring completeness and accuracy across all documentation, and supporting the investment committee in internal reviews and approvals
● Create novel solutions to challenges the A&R team encounters with rights acquisition across different Latin American publishing and collection society structures, collaborating internally to implement processes that achieve ambitious timelines
● Develop and nurture relationships with artists, managers, labels, and other industry stakeholders across the region
● Support the A&R team in reaching ambitious goals and milestones in a dynamic startup environment
● Track key deal points and conversations using internal tools such as HubSpot, Airtable, and Notion
● Monitor industry trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technology in music fintech across Latin American markets
Qualifications
● 2-4 years of demonstrable experience in private equity, investment banking, or a comparable finance or advisory function
● Fluency in Spanish
● Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and work through complex, unstructured data
● Understanding of the Latin American music industry and the ability to confidently navigate complex contract structures (publishing, masters, collection societies)
● Ability to assess opportunity and risk and make sound decisions during negotiations and due diligence
● Ability to quickly interpret legal agreements and summarize them concisely
● Strong attention to detail, high work ethic, and enthusiasm for working in an early-stage startup environment that requires initiative and resourcefulness
● Passion for Latin music and culture, and a desire to be at the forefront of new business models for artists
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external cross-functional teams and music creators
● Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field
Compensation
Competitive salary, incentive and benefits will be offered, commensurate with the role and the final hire’s experience. Depending on the job relevant knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, network and location of the final hire, the base salary is anticipated at an annual rate in the range of $100K to $130K.
