We are a supportive, team-oriented school seeking a Toddler Teacher to guide our waddling Toddlers as they grow, learn, and explore.
About the Role:
As a Teacher in our toddler classroom, you’ll guide our young toddlers through a world of exploration and discovery. This age group is busy, silly, sensitive, and ready for everything—so we’re looking for someone ready to meet them where they are and help them grow. You’ll plan engaging lessons, manage daily routines, and work alongside teachers to keep your classroom running smoothly and safely.
What You’ll Do:
- Ensure a safe, nurturing environment where toddlers can explore and develop
- Plan and lead developmentally appropriate activities that support growth and curiosity
- Guide your group through routines like mealtime, nap time, potty training and transitions
- Partner with other teachers and floating teachers to create a cohesive, supportive team
- Communicate daily with families through Brightwheel updates and regular check-ins
- Observe and document child development milestones using Teaching Strategies
- Maintain classroom cleanliness and meet licensing and health standards
- Attend staff meetings, trainings, and contribute to the Ducklings community
What We’re Looking For:
- Assistant or Lead Teacher Certification through DEEDS
- 1 year of experience in a licensed early learning environment
- Knowledge of toddler development and classroom management strategies
- Positive communication skills and a warm, team-oriented attitude
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet Delaware child care licensing requirements
