What are the responsibilities and job description for the Records Tracker position at Duck Hunts Records?
Company Description
Duck Hunts Records is a Kansas City-based medical records retrieval company focused on supporting personal injury law firms across the United States. The team manages the full lifecycle of medical records retrieval, from initial request through final delivery, so legal teams can focus on case strategy, client care, and settlements. The company operates with a 100% U.S.-based workforce, offers transparent flat-rate pricing, and maintains strict HIPAA compliance. Founded by U.S. Marine Corps veteran Kunda Harris, Duck Hunts Records applies a disciplined, detail-oriented approach to ensure nothing falls through the cracks. The culture emphasizes reliability, clear communication, and “no runaround” service for clients.
Role - Part-Time Records Tracker
Duck Hunts Records helps personal injury law firms get their medical records faster. We track records down, follow up until they show up, and keep cases moving so attorneys can focus on their clients instead of chasing hospitals. We’re small, we’re growing, and hiring our first Records Tracker.
What you’d do
You’d be the engine that keeps records request moving. Day to day, that looks like:
- Calling hospitals, clinics, and records departments to check on open requests
- Tracking the status of every request so nothing stalls
- Handling rejections and resubmitting the paperwork efficiently
- Keeping law firms in the loop so they always know where things stand
- Managing email, phone calls, and online portals tied to each request
Who I’m looking for
You don’t need medical or legal experience, we’ll teach you the process. What I can’t teach is being calm, organized, and good with people. If you’re comfortable on the phone, you don’t let things slip through the cracks, and you can stay patient when a hospital puts you on hold for the fourth time today, you’ll do great here.
The details
- Part-time, about 24 hours a week, four-day work week
- $15 an hour, paid weekly
- Flexible on when you work, but timing outreach appropriately is important so you need to be reachable during normal business hours — that’s when the calls happen
- Missouri-based preferred, but not a must.
