Role Description – HVAC Mechanical EngineerThe HVAC Mechanical Engineer will support system design, estimating, and field execution of HVAC projects. This role works closely with leadership, sales, and the Lead Technician to ensure systems are properly designed, accurately priced, and successfully installed. This is a hands-on engineering role that blends design, problem-solving, and real-world field support to improve efficiency, quality, and profitability.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (or equivalent HVAC engineering experience)
- 3 years of experience in HVAC system design, estimating, or field support
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems, airflow, refrigerant cycles, and heat transfer
- Experience performing HVAC load calculations (Manual J, S, and D)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar HVAC design software
- Knowledge of HVAC codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, local building codes)
- Ability to support estimating, material takeoffs, and labor projections
- Field-aware mindset with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, sales, and leadership
- Valid driver’s license and ability to visit job sites as needed
