Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all store operations, including sales, customer service, inventory control, and merchandising to ensure smooth daily functioning.
- Recruit, interview, hire, and onboard new team members, providing comprehensive employee orientation and ongoing training & development.
- Manage staff schedules, shift assignments, and payroll processing to maintain optimal coverage and operational efficiency.
- Oversee inventory management processes including purchasing, stock replenishment, stock rotation, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities.
- Implement effective pricing strategies and promotional campaigns aligned with marketing initiatives to boost sales performance.
- Maintain accurate cash handling procedures, cashiering operations, and POS (Point of Sale) system management.
- Monitor store financials through budgeting, retail math analysis, and sales management to meet or exceed targets.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and legal requirements across all store activities.
- Foster a positive team environment through leadership in supervising staff performance, conducting performance reviews, and promoting teamwork.
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Conduct regular store audits including merchandising standards, cleanliness checks, safety protocols, and inventory audits.
- Develop marketing strategies locally to increase foot traffic and sales while maintaining brand consistency.
- Utilize strong communication skills to coordinate with corporate teams on initiatives and share feedback from the store floor.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail environments or grocery stores with a focus on store management or assistant manager roles.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience supervising teams and managing employee performance.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills—bilingual or multilingual abilities are highly desirable—to connect with diverse customer bases and team members.
- Proficiency in retail software systems including POS systems; familiarity with bookkeeping, payroll processing, inventory management software is preferred.
- Solid understanding of retail math principles such as pricing strategies, sales calculations, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Experience in recruiting, interviewing, training & development of staff; employee orientation is essential.
- Knowledge of retail sales techniques including merchandising, stocking procedures, marketing initiatives & promotional planning.
- Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining high standards of cashiering procedures & phone etiquette.
- Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations & purchasing negotiations.
- Previous experience in shift management along with supervisory experience in retail or grocery settings is required.
- Organizational skills that support efficient stock control & inventory management practices.
