Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement an engaging, developmentally appropriate curriculum that meets academic standards and the unique needs of each student
- Foster a classroom environment that encourages respect, creativity, critical thinking, and a sense of belonging
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and assessment methods to monitor and support student progress
- Serve as a mentor and leader to associate or assistant teachers in the classroom
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Collaborate with faculty and administration to support school initiatives and participate in professional development opportunities
- Uphold and model the values of Sacred Heart education, including service, faith, and community engagement
- Participate in school-wide events, meetings, and committees as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field required; Master’s degree preferred
- Valid teaching certification (or eligibility for certification)
- Minimum of 3–5 years of teaching experience, preferably in an independent or Catholic school setting
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Commitment to the mission of Sacred Heart education and to the holistic development of students
- Familiarity with best practices in instructional design, classroom management, and differentiated learning
