Summary:
The Duchesne Academy CG Elite Assistant Coach plays a pivotal role in the academic and extracurricular experience of our students. Guided by the Goals and Criteria of the Society of the Sacred Heart, the coach is responsible for leading and assisting the CG Elite Dance Team, providing technical training, and fostering a positive, competitive environment. The ideal candidate will not only have a strong background in competitive dance and choreography but also possess a nurturing spirit and a deep commitment to inspiring dancers, fostering the sisterhood of the team, and helping each athlete and the team reach their full potential.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assist with coaching the CG Elite Dance Team (US) throughout the school year.
- Collaborate with the CG Elite Head Coach on event scheduling, costuming, and program development.
- Handle administrative tasks such as communication with the CG Elige Head Coach, the Athletics Department, parents, and athletes.
- Participate in seasonal planning meetings and check-ins with the dance team department.
- Attend and support all CG Elite performances and competitions.
- Participate in end-of-season activities, including athlete awards and coach evaluations.
- Foster a competitive, fun, and supportive environment for all student-athletes.
Requirements
Minimum Education/Prior Experience/Qualifications Required:
- Availability to coach Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30am to 8:00am (occasional Fridays as well).
- Ability to attend 3-4 dance competitions between December and march, including travel to out of state national – NDA or UDA (specific dates will be coordinated with the head coach).
- Proven experience in coaching elite level dance teams.
- A minimum of four years’ experience in competitive dance.
- Experience in dance at the collegiate or professional level.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Competitive dance competitions – NDA, UDA, or Varsity brand competitions preferred
- Jazz, contemporary, and pom choreography
- Advanced level technical and strength training for dance.
- Teaching advanced dance techniques and skills.
- Coaching a competitive dance team.

Upon Hiring
- Successful completion of criminal offenders’ records information and sexual offender registry checks.
- Successful completion of CMG Safe Environment Training.
- Current CPR certification.
