Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will support licensed speech-language pathologists in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to diverse populations, including children and students with disabilities. You will play a vital role in implementing speech-language therapy plans, supporting language development, and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams to promote effective communication skills. Responsibilities

• Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in conducting assessments, therapy sessions, and progress evaluations for clients with various speech and language disorders.
• Implement individualized speech-language therapy plans, including exercises targeting articulation, fluency, voice, language comprehension, and social communication.
• Support children and students with disabilities by providing tailored interventions that foster early language development and improve communication skills.
• Utilize knowledge of physiology and anatomy to support therapy activities effectively while maintaining client safety and comfort.
• Document therapy sessions accurately, track progress, and communicate updates clearly to supervising clinicians.
• Participate in telehealth therapy sessions when required, ensuring seamless service delivery across different platforms.

Experience

• Prior experience working with children or students with disabilities in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of speech disorders support, language disorders support, and early intervention techniques.
• Familiarity with medical terminology related to speech-language pathology and physiology enhances effectiveness in the role.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary teams in speech-language pathology or related fields is advantageous.
• Bilingual skills are a plus for serving diverse populations effectively.
• Previous exposure to pediatrics or school-based environments is desirable for understanding child language development needs.
• Proven ability to communicate clearly with clients, families, educators, and healthcare professionals ensures successful collaboration.
