Duties
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, and science.
- Foster a supportive classroom atmosphere through effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Provide mentorship and individualized support to students, including those with special education needs or autism spectrum disorder.
- Assess student progress through informal observations and standardized testing; adjust instruction accordingly.
- Support early intervention strategies to assist students who may need additional academic or behavioral support.
- Evaluate and grade student assignments, ensuring timely and meaningful feedback, and compile weekly academic progress reports to communicate student performance to parents.
- Maintain clear communication with parents or guardians regarding student progress and classroom events.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and promotes positive social interactions.
Qualifications
- Proven classroom experience working with children in elementary or early childhood settings.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development, literacy education, math instruction, and behavior management techniques.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, tutoring, and working with individuals with autism or special needs is preferred.
- Familiarity with learning technology platforms, standardized testing procedures, and library services is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, parents, and students.
- Background in early intervention programs or Montessori methods is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classrooms confidently while fostering an engaging learning environment.
- Relevant certifications in early childhood education or teaching credentials are desirable but not mandatory.
