Duties
- Develop and implement innovative lesson plans that incorporate curriculum development principles, integrating advanced topics such as calculus, organic chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, molecular biology, and differential equations.
- Deliver engaging classroom instruction that caters to gifted students’ unique learning needs while maintaining effective classroom management and behavior management strategies.
- Utilize learning technology tools to enhance instructional delivery and facilitate interactive learning experiences.
- Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, and project-based evaluations; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.
- Mentor students individually or in small groups, offering academic advising and personalized tutoring to foster their intellectual growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design, research projects, and instructional strategies to promote best practices in gifted education.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to higher education teaching methods, special education accommodations, Montessori approaches, or research laboratory experiences relevant to science education.
Skills
- Expertise in advanced mathematics including algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, discrete math, and proofing techniques.
- Strong knowledge of scientific disciplines such as cell biology, microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, organic chemistry, and laboratory research methods including dissection and lab safety procedures.
- Proven experience in curriculum development tailored for gifted learners and familiarity with instructional design principles.
- Excellent classroom management skills combined with the ability to motivate high-achieving students working with diverse learning styles.
- Proficiency with educational technology platforms and research library services to support innovative teaching practices.
- Effective communication skills for engaging students, mentoring peers, and collaborating with educational administration teams.
