A Pipe Systems Fabrication Helper assists experienced pipefitters by performing essential tasks like moving materials, cutting/threading pipes, cleaning surfaces, reading blueprints, and preparing components for assembly (bolting, clamping). They ensure the workshop and worksite are safe and organized, handle tools, and may operate basic machinery (grinders, forklifts) to support the creation, installation, and maintenance of piping systems for commercial or industrial projects.
*This is a full-time, year-round position with growth into fabricator roles

Responsibilities:
- Assist with cutting, prepping, and assembling PVC, copper, and steel pipe
- Cut, thread, bend, and clean pipes and surfaces for welding or joining
- Assist with laying out, fitting, positioning, and assembling pipe sections
- Help build standard assemblies from drawings and cut lists
- Tag and prepare assemblies for delivery to job sites
- Set up tools, maintain a clean work area, and ensure safety protocols are followed
- Operate basic shop tools under supervision
- May operate forklifts, cranes, grinders, and drills
- Assist in leak testing and quality checks of installed systems
- Support quality checks for accuracy and completeness
- Assist with loading/unloading materials and finished products
- Work as part of a collaborative, safety-focused team
Requirements:
- 1-3 years’ experience in construction, shop work, or related labor
- Accurately interpret technical drawings and plans to translate them into physical components
- Ability to use a tape measure, follow directions, and work with hand tools
- High level of precision and accuracy; Must have attention to detail
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced shop environment
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
- Willingness to work in various environments (construction sites, fabrication shops)
- Basic understanding of plumbing code is a plus (not required)
