Personnel Security Specialist IV - Temporary

DTSV, Inc. is seeking Temporary Personnel Security Specialist IV. This role provides critical adjudication support to Federal Adjudicators in assessing candidates for suitability and national security clearances. Responsibilities include reviewing cases in alignment with applicable Executive Orders (EOs), the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), and relevant policies, directives, and guidelines. Final determinations regarding suitability and national security are made by authorized Federal Adjudicators.

Duties and Skills:

• Expert knowledge or awareness and adherence to government policies or regulations governing security suitability and eligibility, such as Federal Investigative Standards (FIS), Executive Orders (E.O.) 12968, 13526, and 10450, Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) , Security Executive Agent Directives (SEADs), Intelligence Community Directive (ICD) 704 or other guidelines to make the appropriate adjudication recommendations;
• Manage the review of systems, databases, responses to security questionnaires, reports of investigation (ROI), law enforcement documents, incident reports, and other source security information that contain personal history and related information associated with a candidate to make suitability, eligibility and adjudication recommendations or determinations;
• Make recommendations in accordance with regulations as to whether applicant meets the requirements for employment in a sensitive or non-sensitive position and is consistent with all appropriate adjudicative guidelines;
• Assist with implementing operational policies, procedures, programs, and standards as required, ensuring the efficient and effective implementation of trusted workforce to include the Continuous Evaluation Program, continuous vetting, and RAPBACK;
• Assist Federal staff to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures;
• Implement existing security directives, makes recommendation to resolve unique and complex security problems by coordinating with senior security specialists to include solutions and follow-up written communications;
• Contributes to initiatives aimed at improving functional and automated processes within the subdivision.

Requirements

Education / Certifications:

• High School Diploma
• Must have an active Top-Secret clearance

Experience Requirements:

• Must have 6 years of personnel security experience
• Proven experience in rendering adjudicative decisions or recommendations
• Must have excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office, etc., excellent written and oral communication, risk-management and problem-solving skills
• Ability to learn and use specific government/customer systems such as Information Security Management System (ISMS).

Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment. Required to stand, walk and sit; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone. Required to use a computer throughout the work.

**This is a temporary position for approximately four (4) months, with possible conversion to non-temporary based on workload and/or performance.**
