What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Warehouse Coordinator position at DTS?
Location Garden Grove, CA
Shift: Day Shift
7am-4pm
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF POSITION:
· Drives flow in the warehouse operation under the direction of the site manager.
o Directs work to picking / loading staff by handing out fresh orders based on plan set by manager.
o Checks loads for accuracy (as needed) before loading team ships out.
o Greets inbound and outbound drivers, checks them in and out, and directs truck traffic in yard.
o Prints Batch and Shipping labels for picking / loading team as needed.
· Receives/processes the incoming of materials, products, parts/tools, and/or equipment as needed based on PTO coverage and volume of the day.
o Inspects materials for potential damage, documents & reports, as necessary.
o Receive materials from van truck loads and flatbed loads.
o Replenish warehouse stock and rotate as required using reach truck or forklift.
· Operates warehouse equipment
o Use of forklift, order picker, reach truck, and walkie rider pallet jack required.
o Must have the ability to operate equipment safely.
· Participates in departmental process improvement:
o Studies and standardizes procedures to assure the timely, accurate and efficient processing of all shipping and receiving functions.
· Comprehends and adheres to all safety, quality, and Company guidelines specified in the Employee Handbook, the safety policy manuals, quality procedures or any official Company documents.
· Other duties, as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
· Education and/or Experience: Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent with 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably with steel or tubing; or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
· Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
· Reasoning Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
· Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to listen and speak effectively to understand and communicate the needs of customers and coworkers. Computer Skills: Ability to operate MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), internal business application computer system, and ability to be trained in bar-coding.
· Other Qualifications: Must follow safety standards when working with tools and equipment and must be able to receive forklift certification and dock leveler training within first week of start in the position. After first week, must be able to operate dock leveler, as well as forklift in a variety of weather and traffic conditions. Must also be able to receive 30-hour OSHA certificate approximately within the first month of start in this position. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
PREFERABLE QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
· Education and/or Experience: Highschool Diploma with three (3) years of experience in steel or tubing warehousing.
· Other Qualifications: Bar-coding proficiency is preferred. Additionally, basic knowledge of warehouse tools and equipment is a plus.

Shift Available:
- Candidates must be open to 1st shift and 2nd shift
Pay Range: $18.00 per hour to start
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Move material from the warehouse to a Mill, from a Machine to a Mill or as second operation to a machine and as finish product to the warehouse or to move supplies to a machine.
- Move material by using a Forklift or a Crane.
- Clean sharp tails and wrappings from coils.
- Relieve Mill workers during breaks.
- Use a standard Forklift, a Coil Forklift with a Ram or a Crane with a Coil Hook.
- Weigh scrap and report this accordingly.
- Assemble bundles and master bundles.
- Move boxes of finish product and exchange for empties.
- Follow all established safety procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Lead.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to work unsupervised.
- Operation of forklifts and/or other conveying machines.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, specifications, etc.
- Knowledge and usage of measuring and testing devices.
- Basic math abilities.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Strong problem solving, communication and organizational skills.
- Uncompromising commitment to safety.
- Knowledge of use of hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required by regulatory agencies and company policy.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, push and pull. Able to reach in all directions.
- Walk and stand for extended periods of time to cover 10-12 hour shifts.
- Successful completion of a post-offer hair follicle drug test, physical and background check.
- Other physical requirements as needed for job.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States.
