Shipping Clerk I

Responsible for recording shipping orders on the computer system, labeling items, packing items into containers for shipping, and organizing inventory. Performs any other job duties, projects, etc. as the manager or supervisor assigns.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1 years of experience in a shipping and receiving role
• Experience using bar code scanners, RF scanners, and pallet jacks
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a healthcare or social assistance industry
• Familiarity with shipping software and systems
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

Customer Orders: Shipping

• Monitor order fulfillment software to determine which orders are ready to be processed for shipping.
• Confirm the consumables to process on each “Ready to Ship” order.
• Accurately package, label, and weigh items to be shipped and ensure proper shipment method and shipping charges.
• Verify all orders for accuracy before completing the shipping information and generating labels.
• Ensure each package for the order is complete with product, packaging materials, labels, and packing slip.
• Coordinate pickups with outside shipping companies when necessary.
• Maintain open communication with the Orders Fulfillment Clerk regarding any items on backorder.

Customer Service

• Address customer questions regarding product shipments.
• Assist customers with delivery dates and tracking numbers.
• Troubleshoot shipping issues and customer complaints that arise and work to resolve them.

Inventory

• Restock shelves to ensure enough product is on hand to fulfill customer orders.
• Overview inventory to replenish shelves weekly.
• Perform weekly cycle counts.
• Perform monthly inventory for product control.
• Prepare regular shipping reports for managers.
• Assist the Receiving Clerk as necessary to receive inventory and complete accompanying tasks.

Warehouse Maintenance

• Complete the “Warehouse Duties” checklist daily.
• Ensure daily tasks are completed fully and accurately.
• Keep the warehouse clean and safe.
• Practice safety awareness by keeping aisles clear and adhering to environmental management and systems
