Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Drayage Sales Manager based in Atlanta, GA. Your mission is to lead, mentor, and optimize our sales team to aggressively grow our regional footprint.
You will be responsible for overseeing our Drayage Sales Representatives, driving team accountability, and refining our sales strategies. We are looking for a strategic leader and player-coach who understands the nuances of the Atlanta and Savannah markets, can unblock bottlenecks for their team, and knows how to transform individual talent into a high-performing sales engine.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership & Coaching: Oversee, mentor, and motivate the Drayage Sales Representative team. Conduct regular 1-on-1s, ride-alongs, and strategy sessions to improve their closing ratios and pipeline management.
- KPI Accountability: Define, track, and enforce team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Monitor daily outbound activity, pipeline health, and revenue targets to ensure the team meets or exceeds monthly quotas.
- Strategic Pipeline Oversight: Review sales pipelines weekly to identify gaps, ensure accurate forecasting, and assist reps in moving stagnant accounts through the sales lifecycle.
- High-Value Bid Support: Oversee the RFQ and bid management process for major accounts. Provide strategic guidance on pricing, margin maximization, and contract negotiations to help reps close high-value business.
- Process Optimization: Refine and standardize the sales onboarding process, CRM data hygiene, and lead generation strategies to maximize team efficiency.
- Market Leadership: Maintain a macro-view of Savannah Port conditions and Atlanta rail activity to guide the team’s market positioning and capacity alignment.
- Leadership Experience: 3 years of experience managing a sales team, preferably within logistics, drayage, or intermodal transportation.
- Proven Track Record: A history of successfully leading a team to hit revenue goals, or individual experience as a top-tier drayage closer ready to step into management.
- Regional Expertise: Deep understanding of the Savannah Port, Atlanta Rail systems, and Southeast supply chain dynamics.
- Coaching & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a passion for developing talent, holding teams accountable, and resolving conflict.
- Strategic Negotiation: Advanced ability to structure high-level contracts, handle complex objections, and assist reps in closing large-scale accounts.
- Technical Proficiency: * Expertise in Google Workspace (specifically Sheets for analyzing team metrics and bid oversight).
- Advanced CRM management skills (tracking team performance, pipeline analytics, and activity reporting).
- Base Salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year (negotiable based on experience)
- Bonus/Commission: Override structure based on overall team performance and revenue growth
