In need of 3 Flexible Drivers!
DT Trucking is looking to hire 2 fulltime and 1 part-time driver for a contract opportunity. We're looking for experienced, dependable, trustworthy truck drivers to complete our team and serve our suppliers in a safe and timely manner. The driving position is limited to driving High Roof Cargo Vans.
All positions will be responsible for daytime general freight deliveries between 50 - 200 miles daily.
**Transportation is a MUST! Hiring for both Hammond and Baton Rouge Area!**
Responsibilities
- Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers.
- Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance.
- Submit vehicle inspection reports.
- Plan routes and meet delivery schedules.
- Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures.
- Collect and verify delivery instructions.
- Report defects, accidents or violations.
Skills
- Proven work experience as a driver
- Clean driving record; No recent moving or driving violations
- No DUI/DWI convictions in the past seven years
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather conditions etc)
- Valid driving license
- Able to pass background and drug test
Education, Experience, and Age Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- CDL – B, D Preferred; Not Required
- 25 years or older
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract
Pay: $100.00 - $125.00 per day
