Overview
You will provide pharmacist coverage in a federal correctional facility. Work supports continuity of care when staff is out. You work inside a structured clinical setting with clear protocols.
Schedule
Monday to Friday
6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
10 to 20 hours per month on average
Max 48 hours per month
On-call required with 60-minute response
Responsibilities
Review and verify prescriptions
Dispense medications and maintain records
Identify drug interactions and ensure safety
Manage pharmacy inventory and supplies
Enter orders and maintain documentation systems
Support patient education
Maintain compliance with federal standards

All equipment and supplies provided onsite
Requirements
Active, unrestricted Pharmacist license
Graduate of accredited pharmacy program
Current CPR certification
Strong clinical judgment and attention to detail
Ability to work independently
Preferred
Prior correctional or government facility experience
Experience with Pyxis or automated dispensing systems
Security Clearance
Background check required
Fingerprinting required
Credit check required
Must pass federal security screening
