ABOUT THE ROLE
DT Engineering is looking for a driven and technically savvy Business Development Manager to lead revenue growth across our Automation Solutions, Tooling Solutions, and Services divisions. This is a high-impact, remote role for a seasoned sales professional with deep roots in industrial automation who thrives on building meaningful customer relationships and closing complex technical deals.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own and grow a territory by developing and executing annual sales strategies aligned with revenue targets
- Manage a robust pipeline of opportunities across targeted industries using a structured sales continuum process
- Conduct technical audits of customer automation systems and recommend real-time solutions during site visits
- Build and maintain relationships with industry influencers, strategic partners, and key accounts
- Serve as Principal Engineer on as-sold projects - bridging the gap between sales, applications, and engineering teams
- Represent DT Engineering at trade shows and customer sites as needed
- Provide accurate forecasting and weekly updates to Business Development Leadership
- Monitor competitor activity and contribute to strategic planning efforts
WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent
- 5 years of experience in industrial automation
- Proven track record in field sales - ideally involving custom automated machinery and tooling
- Background in machine design, machine processes, and working with equipment suppliers
- Strong technical acumen with the ability to assess and present automation solutions on the fly
- Excellent communication, forecasting, and strategic account management skills
- Comfort with travel - domestic and international - for customer visits, site audits, and trade shows
