Residential Construction Assistant Superintendent

DSW Homes, LLC is seeking a motivated, dependable, and career-oriented Residential Construction Assistant Superintendent to support our growing residential construction portfolio in the Asheville, NC area. This is a full-time, in-person position that requires regular travel to multiple residential job sites within the surrounding region.

Reporting to the Program Manager, this role provides hands-on experience in residential rehabilitation and new construction projects within a scattered-site environment. The selected candidate will work closely with experienced construction professionals to learn project coordination, site management, quality control, scheduling, subcontractor oversight, and safety compliance.

The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and interested in building a long-term career in residential construction management. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities are essential for success in this role.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with construction experience, trade experience, construction education, or related backgrounds who are looking to develop into a Superintendent role while contributing to high-quality residential construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage residential rehabilitation and new construction projects from pre‑construction through completion
• Travel regularly to job sites to monitor progress, conduct inspections, and coordinate field activities
• Develop, maintain, and enforce aggressive project schedules to ensure on‑time project delivery
• Manage project budgets, track costs, and prepare regular progress and status reports
• Coordinate and schedule subcontractors, vendors, and material suppliers
• Promote job site safety by enforcing safety standards, encouraging safe work practices, and correcting hazards immediately
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with construction plans, local building codes, and company standards
• Read, interpret, and implement architectural and engineered construction plans and specifications
• Develop, manage, and close out punch lists
• Work directly with homeowners and stakeholders to address concerns and maintain positive working relationships
• Assist with permit applications, inspections, and regulatory compliance with local jurisdictions within North Carolina
• Support the Program Manager with additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in residential construction, rehabilitation, and/or new home construction
• Must reside in or be willing to relocate to the Asheville, NC area
• Ability and willingness to travel frequently to job sites as required
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and engineered plans
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to learn firm‑specific construction management software
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive information with integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and project demands

Preferred Qualifications

• College coursework or degree in Construction Management or a related field
• Experience managing projects in a scattered‑site or multi‑location environment
• Familiarity with local building codes, permitting processes
