Responsibilities

• Oversee daily store operations, including sales management, inventory control, and merchandising to maximize profitability.
• Lead, supervise, and develop a high-performing retail sales team through effective training, coaching, and performance evaluations.
• Manage staffing schedules, shift assignments, and payroll processing to ensure optimal coverage during peak hours.
• Handle customer inquiries with professionalism using excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills to resolve issues promptly.
• Conduct inventory management activities such as stock replenishment, purchasing decisions, pricing adjustments, and stock organization.
• Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, cash handling, and sales reporting while maintaining accuracy in cash register operations.
• Implement operational policies related to safety standards, loss prevention, and store cleanliness to create a secure shopping environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in retail management or assistant manager roles within the retail industry with supervising experience.
• Strong knowledge of retail math including basic math skills necessary for bookkeeping, inventory management, and sales analysis.
• Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse customer bases effectively.
• Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing techniques, recruiting strategies, and training & development programs.
• Familiarity with POS systems, inventory control procedures, merchandising standards, and operational management practices.
• Ability to manage budgets, perform basic bookkeeping tasks, and handle payroll processes accurately.
• Previous experience in grocery or retail store environments is preferred; experience with cashiering and cash handling is essential.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently while managing time effectively across multiple responsibilities.
