Summary
- Responsible for the daily scheduling of warehouse personnel to ensure proper staffing in order to select and receive products at the facility in a productive and cost-efficient manner.
- Directs the day-to-day activities of the warehouse.
- Such activities include shipping, receiving, sanitation, maintenance, inventory control, etc.
- Adheres to budget requirements and works toward obtaining objectives and branch goals.
- Responsible for maintenance of warehouse equipment, providing both preventive maintenance programs and all necessary repairs.
- Ensures that the warehouse personnel have safe, efficient equipment in order to perform the distribution functions.
- Responsible for warehouse safety programs in order to provide a safe and clean workplace for employees and within the regulations of all OSHA local and state regulations.
- Recommends equipment requirements and replacements in order to upgrade and maintain warehouse productivity and efficiency.
- Responsible for recruitment, hiring, training, performance management, and discipline of direct reports.
- Timely reporting and compliance with deadlines
- Researches, identifies, and presents new ideas to improve warehouse operations.
- Attends and participates in regularly scheduled and impromptu meetings.
- Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state, local, and company safety policies.
- Performs other duties as needed/assigned
- Manage and lead warehouse personnel, including recruitment, training, performance management, and succession planning.
- Provide coaching and support to ensure employees are motivated and productive.
- Train new employees on warehouse systems and procedures.
- 2-3 years of experience in transportation and logistics management, with supervisory or managerial responsibilities is preferred.
- High School Diploma required
- Must have forklift experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of warehouse environment
- Advanced competency in all aspects of business administration
- People management and leadership experience (Recruitment, Selection, Training & Development, Coaching, and Performance Management
- Strategic Planning Skills
- Strong Organizational Skills (prioritize, plan, assign, and control)
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment and culture
- Ability to develop networks and relationships
- Work well in a time-sensitive, fast-paced environment under pressure
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in customer service and logistics (will consider an equivalent combination of education and/or experience).
- Material Handling Certification
- Dangerous Goods Qualification
- Forklift Operation and Certification
- Some experience with Warehouse Management Systems
- English preferred (reading, writing and verbal)
- Proficiency in basic MS Office applications.
For this position, the expected base pay is: $57,000.00 - $77,000.00 / Annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location, consistent with applicable laws and company policy.
