Role Description The Mergers and Acquisitions Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Midwest. This role is responsible for managing end-to-end dealership buy-sell transactions, including valuation support, financial analysis, and preparation of marketing materials for potential buyers and sellers. The Advisor will conduct due diligence, analyze financial statements and market data, prepare presentations, and support negotiations to align deal structures with client objectives. Day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining strong client relationships, coordinating with legal, financial, and operational stakeholders, and tracking deal pipelines and timelines. The Advisor will also support business development efforts by identifying prospective clients, contributing to industry research, and representing DSMA at meetings, events, and presentations.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical and financial skills, including experience with valuation, financial modeling, and interpreting financial statements.
- Transaction and advisory experience in mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, investment banking, or related fields.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills with the ability to work effectively with dealer principals and senior executives.
- Proficiency in using productivity tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, CRM platforms) to manage analyses, presentations, and deal pipelines.
- Knowledge of the automotive retail or dealership industry, or a strong interest in learning this sector, is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline; advanced credentials.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and maintain high attention to detail.
