JOB BRIEF
As a Junior Creative Designer at DSM, you will be responsible for the production of a wide range of digital and printed marketing materials. This position requires knowledge and experience with the Adobe Creative Suite and other graphic design and marketing platforms. The primary function of this position will be to assist DSM and its clients with production design, social media graphics and video, and edits to creative work. However, this designer will participate in ideation and have ample opportunities to grow. These projects could include logo and branding studies, creative campaigns, advertising, and website design. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
- Support DSM in the coordination and execution of advertising and marketing campaigns
- Fully responsible for the day-to-day operations set forth by your Manager
- Participate in internal meetings, capture notes, and assist in preparing follow-ups and next steps
- Communicate clearly with internal teams to share updates, gather assets, and maintain project momentum
- Contribute ideas in team meetings and brainstorming sessions
- Proactively seek feedback and demonstrate initiative in problem solving and continuous improvement
- Generate and communicate clear ideas and concepts in collaboration with the creative team and others as they may need it
- Understand marketing initiatives, market positioning, and target audience of all clients, and create work well-aligned with established branding and marketing strategies
- Participate in design projects from concept through to final output
- Work within brand guidelines and apply their vision to marketing materials (logos, banners, social media graphics, layouts)
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Team player with strong communication and presentation skills
- Relevant education or training
- Hands on experience with graphic design
- Experience creating digital marketing pieces (may include digital ads, social media graphics and/or video, emails, etc.)
- Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Adobe Indesign; Figma, Canva, The Brief, PowerPoint, CapCut, After Effects or Premier are pluses
- Must have an understanding of typography and foundational graphic design and marketing principles
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Up to 5 years of professional experience (this can include internship experience if relevant)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Positive attitude and eagerness to learn in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
- Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where employees can work remotely or from the office, as needed, based on demands of specific tasks. Working from the office is encouraged for tasks that require a high degree of collaboration.
