Duties
- Prepare and maintain growing areas, including soil beds, greenhouses, and outdoor plots, ensuring optimal conditions for plant development
- Manage irrigation systems efficiently to provide consistent water supply tailored to plant needs
- Monitor plant health daily by identifying pests, diseases, or deficiencies through visual inspection and plant identification skills
- Assist with planting, transplanting, pruning, staking, and harvesting cannabis plants using appropriate hand tools and mechanical knowledge
- Implement horticultural best practices such as pruning, trimming, and supporting plant growth to maximize yield quality and quantity
- Maintain detailed records of plant progress, environmental conditions, and cultivation activities for compliance and quality assurance
- Support heavy lifting tasks related to soil amendments, containers, or harvested plants while adhering to safety protocols
Qualifications
- Prior experience in growing plants, horticulture, farming, landscaping or related outdoor work environments
- Knowledge of irrigation systems and greenhouse management techniques
- Familiarity with gardening tools, hand tools, and mechanical equipment used in cultivation processes
- Ability to identify different plant stages and diagnose common issues affecting plant health
- Strong physical stamina for heavy lifting and outdoor labor in various weather conditions
- Basic math skills for measuring inputs like nutrients or water volumes accurately
- Passion for agriculture and sustainable farming practices with a keen eye for detail and quality control
