Senior Account Executive

Location: Lansing, Michigan Area

Salary: $100,000 to $180,000 base commission

A national, family-owned paper and packaging manufacturer known for their paper mills and corrugated manufacturing operations across the United States. Its capabilities span containerboard, kraft paper, custom corrugated packaging, high-graphic displays, and contract packaging. The company's corrugated offering ranges from traditional shipping containers to industrial corrugated, moisture-barrier packaging, large-format solutions, multi-color graphics, retail/display packaging, and customized structural solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, retain, and grow an established portfolio of B2B customer accounts.
• Develop new business throughout the surrounding Michigan market.
• Identify opportunities to expand existing accounts through additional products, programs, and packaging solutions.
• Prospect and develop new customers through direct outreach, referrals, networking, and strategic territory development.
• Understand customer packaging challenges and translate those needs into commercially viable corrugated solutions.
• Collaborate with internal estimating, design, customer service, production, and operational teams throughout the sales process.
• Manage customer quotations, proposals, and commercial discussions.
• Maintain a healthy new-business pipeline while providing a high level of support to existing customers.
• Monitor market activity and identify opportunities to expand the company's footprint throughout the territory.

Qualifications

• 3 years of packaging experience, specifically proven B2B sales experience within corrugated packaging.
• Demonstrated success managing and growing an existing book of business.
• Proven ability to prospect, develop, and win new accounts.
• Experience working directly with customers on customized products, specifications, quotes, or packaging solutions is highly desirable.
• Strong relationship-building, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with plant, design, estimating, customer service, and operational stakeholders.
• Self-directed and comfortable taking ownership of a sales territory and customer portfolio.
• Ability to demonstrate measurable commercial accomplishments such as revenue growth, new-business wins, account expansion, territory growth, or book-of-business performance.
• Traveling up to 50% if necessary in the state.
