Position Overview
The Plant Production Manager oversees all plant operations within an automotive manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and cost‑effective production. This role leads cross‑functional teams, drives continuous improvement, and ensures alignment with customer expectations, industry standards, and organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily plant operations including production, maintenance, quality assurance, supply chain, and engineering.
- Create and execute operational plans that meet or exceed production targets, safety goals, and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with automotive industry regulations
- Directly supervise department leaders and provide mentorship, training, and performance management.
- Manage plant budget, forecasts, and capital expenditures.
- Analyze and optimize cost drivers - labor, scrap, material usage, maintenance, and energy.
- Lead strategic initiatives focusing on lean manufacturing, automation, throughput, and waste reduction.
- Ensure seamless product launches for new automotive programs.
- Drive lean methodologies (5S, Kaizen, TPM, Value Stream Mapping) to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Utilize data-driven decision making through KPIs and manufacturing analytics.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 10 years of leadership experience in automotive manufacturing.
- Proven experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of automotive OEM and Tier system customer requirements.
- Demonstrated success leading large teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
