Director of Procurement

Job Summary: The Director of Procurement will oversee the procurement operations for our agriculture business, ensuring the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Director of Procurement will play a critical role in supporting the company's growth and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Create and execute procurement strategies that align with the company's objectives and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality agricultural products and services.
• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage relationships with suppliers to ensure reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure favorable terms.
• Budget Management: Oversee the procurement budget, ensuring expenditures are within approved limits and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all procurement activities comply with industry regulations and company policies. Mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions and market fluctuations.
• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills.
• Performance Monitoring: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of procurement activities. Implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Market Analysis: Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supply chain developments. Use insights to inform procurement decisions.
• Sustainability Initiatives: Promote sustainable procurement practices that support the company's environmental and social responsibility goals.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the agriculture industry.
• Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and strategic thinking skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and tools.
• Certifications: Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) are a plus.
