The Director of Continuous Improvement will drive Continuous Improvement initiatives through the use of Lean Manufacturing methodologies and provide guidance to leadership to achieve operational excellence. This role is key in managing departments, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and optimizing processes to drive quality and efficiency. The Director of Continuous Improvement will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and play a vital role in coaching, mentoring, and driving performance excellence.
The Director of Continuous Improvement will be responsible for:
- Managing Continuous Improvement initiatives using Lean-Six Sigma tools and methodology.
- Leading and resourcing performance improvement projects that drive profitability and efficiency.
- Coaching and mentoring Green Belts, ensuring successful project execution and certification.
- Troubleshooting quality problems and implementing timely corrective actions.
- Overseeing the management of Quality Systems, ISO Certification, and Chain of Custody Certifications.
- Advocating for and implementing best practices in manufacturing and quality control.
- Providing customer service assistance for sales and technical teams, as needed.
- Collaborating with leadership to champion safety, environmental, quality, cost, and productivity goals.
- Leading a team of technical experts and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
The Director of Continuous Improvement will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Paper Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in the pulp and paper industry.
- Proven ability to teach, coach, and mentor Lean-Six Sigma projects.
